Research Interests: Wind energy (the technical design, development, manufacture, installation, maintenance and operation of wind turbines). The introduction of new energy producing plant into electricity systems and operation of such plant, and the design of both the systems and the market mechanisms to respect the different nature of different energy producing plant. The development of the Hydrogen economy, using sustainable energy (e.g. wind) as the starting point. A preliminary energy accounting assessment of the technology chain has been undertaken to see where development effort needs to be focused.

Background: Took a leading role in the design and development of both the wind turbine blades and the manufacturing processes to make them, in the 1980′s and has continued to be involved in advanced wind turbine design and development.
