Research Interests: Energy economics: natural gas, shale gas, power and heat systems, Russian power utilities industry, energy efficiency, EU-Russia energy relations, microeconomic modelling. Tourism economics: digital visitor economy, e-tourism, cultural heritage, film and literature tourism, mystery and thriller tourism. International migration: internal migration in the EU, migration and remittances, Ukrainian migration, migration policies.
Background: Before moving to Cambridge, Wadim was a Lecturer of Tourism Marketing, Strategic Marketing Planning, and Economics of European Integration at the Charles University in Prague, a vice-chancellor for development at the College of Economics and Management in Prague, a deputy director for research and development at CERGE-EI Prague, and a Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham. He holds a PhD from the National University of Ireland Galway, an MSc from the University of Siena, and MA from the Charles University in Prague.
