Biography: Fabien Roques is an Associate Professor at University Paris Dauphine and a Senior Vice President with the economics consultancy Compass Lexecon. His expertise spans European power, gas, and carbon dioxide (CO2) markets, with a specific focus on market design and regulation, competition and state aid issues. Fabien is a regular contributor to academic and professional journals on economic issues related to the energy industry. Previous roles included leading the IHS CERA European power and carbon research and consulting team, and contributing to the World Energy Outlook as a Senior Economist with the International Energy Agency. Mr. Roques holds an MSc in engineering from the Ecole Centrale Lyon and a PhD from the University of Cambridge.
