Research Interests
Liberalisation, market design, and regulation of electricity and gas markets; Quantitative methods for investment valuation under uncertainty; Macroeconomic modelling of energy and environment scenarios.

Background
Fabien’s research concentrates on the utilities industry, with a particular focus on regulatory and market design issues related to power and CO2 markets in Europe. Fabien recently co-edited a book, “Analytical Methods for Energy Security and Diversity”, on analytical approaches to value security of supply and fuel mix diversification in the power sector.
Fabien worked for three year in the International Energy Agency energy and environment scenarios. He worked on the special study of nuclear power prospects published in World Energy Outlook (WEO) 2006, on the macroeconomic impact of China and India’s rising energy demand for WEO 2007, and on the design of a post-Kyoto climate change mitigation agreement for WEO 2008.

Fabien holds a PhD in Energy Economics from the University of Cambridge, an MPhil in Technology Policy from the University of Cambridge, and an M.Sc. in Engineering from Ecole Centrale Lyon.
