Panel Discussion “A Global Economic System in Turmoil: What is at Stake for the MENA region?” with K. Mohaddes

Kamiar Mohaddes participated in a panel discussion A Global Economic System in Turmoil: What is at Stake for the MENA region?“, on 17 May 2021 that was part of the plenary session of the ERF 27th Annual Conference.

Together with Mahmoud Mohieldin (Executive Director, International Monetary Fund), Hala Elsaid (Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Egypt), Mounir Tabet (Deputy Executive Secretary, United Nations ESCWA) and Ibrahim Elbadawi (former Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Sudan), they discussed the implications of the dual shock, the COVID-19 pandemic and the oil shock, for the Middle East and North African region, its implications for the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the various policies needed to navigate these unprecedented shocks and move forward despite the uncertainties the region is facing.
