Background: Hao Chen obtained his Ph.D. degree in Energy Economics from Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research (CEEP-BIT), Beijing Institute of Technology in 2018, and is currently an associate professor at School of Applied Economics, Renmin University of China, Beijing, China. He studied at EPRG as a visiting PhD student from 2016 to 2017. During this period, he worked with Professor Michael G. Pollitt on an ESRC/EPSRC funded project on Chinese Power Market Reform in collaboration with the British Embassy in Beijing and the British Consulate in Guangzhou. The initial results were published both in the English and Chinese languages. Hao also worked with Dr. Chi Kong Chyong on the electricity system modelling and published two papers in peer reviewed journals (Energy Journal and Energy Economics).
