Research Interest: Competition, regulations, liberalization, private participation, privatization and market and sector reforms of the infrastructure sector especially the energy sector, the integration of climate change, biodiversity and the other biotic and abiotic factors (our planet), and equality, equity and fairness (justice).
Background: Natsuko Toba was part of the regulation group (morphed into the current EPRG) of the University of Cambridge during her PhD study. Natsuko was a Senior Economist at World Bank focused on the energy sector and climate change/environment, and was an Economist and Poverty Reduction Specialist at Asian Development Bank (ADB) focused on the transport and energy sectors. Natsuko’s work at the WBG and ADB includes (i) investment projects, (ii) policy, regulation, technical assistance, research, analysis and evaluation and (iii) independent evaluation (at the Independent Evaluation Group of WBG). Natsuko’s work experience covers developing countries of all regions.
